Princess Scheherazade has everything you could expect from the main character of a timeless myth: the fascinating beauty of a woman able to seduce a legendary king, coupled with the opulent luxury of the Orient. The princess’s body, delicately modelled, is depicted reclining among brightly-coloured fabrics and cushions and finely outlined rich ornamentation. The details in golden lustre add a further touch of wealth and vibrancy to the overall composition. A scene conjured in the imagination of true romantic artists who have also envisaged the Orient shrouded in mystery and sensuality.
